This writ petition has been filed for quashing of the First Information Report dated 8.6.2025 giving rise to Case Crime No. 0136 of 2025, under Sections 69, 351(2) of B.N.S., Police Station - Chowk, District - Maharajganj, lodged by the respondent no. 3. 3. The allegations made in the first information report were that the petitioner no. 1 had, by deceitful means, after making false promise to marry the respondent no. 3 had had physical relationship with the respondent no. 3. A counter affidavit has been filed by the respondent no.3 herself in which it has been stated that the petitioner no. 1 and the respondent no. 3 have now married each other and have also applied for registration of their marriage. 4. Sri B.K. Mishra, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no.3 has submitted that the petitioner no. 1 and the respondent no.3 both are adults and they have married each other and that the respondent no.3 has no interest in now pursuing the criminal prosecution against the petitioners. 5. Under such circumstances, no fruitful purpose would be served by getting the matter investigated. The instant writ petition is, accordingly, allowed.
