Petitioners have sought protection, as they apprehend harm at the hands of parents of petitioner no. 2, who are impleded as respondent nos. 3 & 4. As per the pleadings made in the writ petition, petitioners were in love since 2018, and now, they have decided to get married. 4. Learned counsel for petitioners submits that marriage could not be solemnised so far because of threat to life of the petitioners and they intend to get married within a week, and also to get their marriage registered soon thereafter. 5. Both the petitioners appeared before us. Petitioner no. 1 stated that he is employed as delivery boy in Amazon Company, and is residing at Rudrapur. He further stated that he studied upto 9th standard. Petitioner no. 2 stated that she has passed 12th Board Examination, however, she is not employed anywhere as of now. 6. Learned State Counsel submits that since both the petitioners appear to be major from the documents enclosed with the writ petition, therefore, he has no objection, if protection is 2025:UHC:4916-DB given to them for a reasonable time. 7. We, accordingly, dispose of the writ petition with direction to Station House Officer, Police Station, Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar to provide protection to petitioners for a period of 6 weeks to ensure that no harm is caused to them by private respondents or any other person acting at their behest. Upon expiry of 6 weeks, the SHO concerned shall make fresh assessment of threat perception of petitioners and take such steps, as are felt necessary. 8.
