The following prayer has been made in the instant writ petition :- " i. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the application dated 21.10.2024 and 27.12.2024 of the petitioner and to pass appropriate order for releasing the amount of the contractual work done by the petitioner in respect to the Contract No.1- 22/SE/2014-15 Chandpur Gaura Bandha 2247 CRF. " 2. The case of the petitioner is that certain amount is due and payable to the petitioner under a work contract with the respondents. 3. Sri Rajiv Gupta, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel appearing for the State has invited our attention towards a communication dated 04.01.2025 by Superintendent Engineer, addressed to Executive Engineer Gandak Flood Division -I Basti, whereby he has sought a report from the Executive Engineer in respect of the claim of the petitioner. 4. As the Superintendent Engineer is already examining the claim of the petitioner, therefore, we dispose of the instant petition with direction to the Superintendent Engineer, respondent No.2, to take appropriate decision in respect of the claim of the petitioner within eight weeks from the date of communication of the instant order.
