Despite service of notice and printing the name of the respondent in the cause list, the representation has not chosen to contest this petition. 3. I heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and also gone through the affidavit filed in support of the petition and also the enclosures filed in the typed set of papers. 4. The petitioner is the wife, who is facing divorce proceedings initiated by the respondent/husband in FCOP No.230 of 2025 on the file of Family Court, Vellore. The petitioner is resident of Chennai and she is also having the custody of minor daughter aged 5 years and the petitioner expresses inconvenience and difficulties to travel all the way to attend the proceedings before the Family Court, Vellore. 5. I find that the request for transfer is just and reasonable and hence, this petition is allowed with the following directions. (a) FCOP No.230 of 2025 is withdrawn from the file of Family Court, Vellore and the same is transferred to the file of Principal Family Court, Chennai. (b) The Principal Family Court, Chennai, at its discretion shall take up FCOP No.230 of 2025 or assign it to any of the Additional Family Courts, __________ Page2 of 4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis TR CMP No. 974 of 2025 subject to the pendency of cases and work load of the respective Family Courts in Chennai. 6. The Family Court, Vellore is directed to send the entire records relating to FCOP No.230 of 2025 to the file of the Principal Family Court, Chennai forthwith. There shall be no order as to costs.
