JUSTICE D K SINGH) The present writ appeal is filed impugning the judgment and order dated 28.01.2025 passed in W.P.No.32791/2024. 2. The writ petition was filed by the petitioner which is an association of Retired Police Officers of the State of Karnataka seeking a direction to consider the representation as at Annexure-A wherein they have requested the State Government to take steps for reduction of the commutation period and to take steps to repay the excess amounts recovered from the Constituents of the petitioner-Association, upon computation of period of Commutation from 15 years to a reduced 11 years. 3. The learned Single Judge in the impugned judgment and order has held that there is an alternate Forum created under the State Administrative Tribunals - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:53930-DB WA No. 255 of 2025 Act, 1985 and the petitioner-Association should approach the said Forum for redressal of grievance of its members. 3. Learned counsel for the appellant submits that the appellant-Association has submitted a representation before the State Government on 19.08.2024 and a direction may be given to consider the said representation and to take an informed decision. 4. Mr. M.N.Sudev Hegde, learned Additional Government Advocate submits that he has no objection to the said submission made on behalf of appellant- Association. 5. In view thereof, we dispose of this writ appeal with liberty to the appellant-Association to make a fresh representation to the State Government and the State Government shall consider the said representation within a period of three months thereafter. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:53930-DB WA No. 255 of 2025 6. It is needless to say that the State Government will give an opportunity of hearing to the representative of the appellant-Association before taking final decision. 7. If the decision is not in favour of the appellant- Association, then they may avail appropriate remedy, as available in law.
