(Oral) Status report by way of an affidavit of Kulbir Singh Sandhu PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nangal, District Rupnagar, has been filed on behalf of respondents No.4 and 5, in compliance of order dated 09.07.2025, which is taken on record. It has been alleged in the status report that the Incharge, Police Post Naya Nangal, inquired the matter by examining Muskan (daughter of petitioner) as well as respondent No.6 in presence of Sarpanch and Member Panchayat of village Kalsera, District Rupnagar and also recorded their statements. Daughter of petitioner Muskan and respondent No.6 stated in their separate statements that they have solemnized marriage out of their own sweet will and against the wishes of petitioner-Mangat Rai, who had objection to their relationship and due to which they had approached this KOMAL 2025.08.04 17:27 I attest to the accuracy of this document CRWP-7336-2025 (O&M) -2- Court, seeking protection to their life and liberty. They also stated in their statements that now they are happily residing at the address mentioned in the present petition after their marriage and they have no apprehension from anyone including petitioner-Mangat Rai and they do not require any protection. Muskan (daughter of petitioner) also stated that she had not been detained or kept confined by anyone including respondent No.6 and being wife of respondent No.6, she is residing with him.
