No. 1178 of 2025 __________ Page3 of 6 For Petitioner(s): Mr.B.Jawahar For Respondent(s): Mr.R.Ganesh Kumar Counsel for Government For R1 to R6 Mr.M.R.Elavarasan For R7 to R10 ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to conduct a proper investigation into the petitioner's complaint regarding a social boycott, and to grant police protection to the petitioner and his brother to reside in their house at Mariamman Koil Street, Komal, Kuthalam Taluk, Mayiladuthurai District. 2. It is seen that the petitioner has perfomed an inter-caste marriage. Consequently, respondents 7 to 11 acted as the Nattamai (village headmen) of the village and condemned the actions of the petitioner. The petitioner’s house was locked, forcing them to stay outside the village, as respondents 7 to 11 are not permitting the petitioner to enter the village. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint. On receipt of the complaint, the sixth respondent registered an FIR in Crime No. 198 of 2025 for offences under Sections 296(b), 127(2), 324(4), and 351(2) of the BNS against respondents 7 to 11. While the investigation was pending, the petitioner was once again barred from entering his house and the village. Consequently, another complaint was lodged with the fourth respondent. The fourth respondent then orally instructed the village concerned to permit the petitioner to stay in his house, but this instruction was not obeyed. 3. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to lodge a fresh complaint before the third respondent RDO. The third respondent, in turn, is directed to issue notices to respondents 7 to 11, conduct an enquiry, and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of 12 weeks. Further, sixth respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No. 198 of 2025 and file a final report within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Further, the sixth respondent is directed to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members at the hands of the respondents 7 to 11. 4. With the above observations and directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of . Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
