JUSTICE ARUN DEV CHOUDHURY ORDER Date : 28.03.2025 Heard Mr. A Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. S Dutta, learned counsel for the respondent Nos.1 to 4. The petitioner was elected as a Member of Gaon Panchayat of No.67 Bamungaon Gaon Panchayat under Udali Anchalik Panchayat in the district of Hojai. By the impugned notification dated 05.02.2019 issued by the In-charge Deputy Commissioner, Hojai, the post of Vice President has been earmarked for Scheduled Caste members. It is the grievance of the petitioner that such reservation was made post declaration of the election. Be that as it may, the tenure of the Gaon Panchayat has in the meantime expired and the issue now will be an academic issue and therefore, this court is not inclined to proceed further in this writ petition. Accordingly the writ petition stands closed. However, it is made clear that if any subsequent cause of action arises in this regard, the petitioner shall be at liberty to approach this court JUDGE Comparing Assistant
