NARENDRA PRASAD ORAL ORDER This writ petition is filed under Articles 226 & 227 of the Constitution of India, seeking the following relief: “Issue writ in the nature of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representations filed by the petitioner Nos. 1 to 8 on different dates as per Annexures-E, E1 to E7 respectively for payment of interest for delay in settlement of earned leave salary as per the Government Order bearing No. AE 211 PEN 2021, - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:33994 WP No. 19969 of 2025 Bengaluru dated 22.02.2022 as per Annexure-D and also as per the order passed by this Hon’ble Court in W.P.No.50972/2019 and other connected matters disposed of on 07.12.2021 as per Annexure-F.” 2. The petitioners are the retired employees of the second respondent – Corporation. They have retired from the service in the year 2022. The earned leave encashment amount has been paid in the year 2025. Since the interest for the delayed payment has not been paid, they submitted representations vide Annexure-E series, seeking interest for the delayed payment of earned leave encashment as per the Government Order dated 22.02.2022 (Annexure-D). 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, this Court in respect of similarly placed persons in W.P.No.50972/2019 and connected matters disposed of on 07.12.2021 had directed the second respondent to pay interest on delayed payment of earned leave encashment - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:33994 WP No. 19969 of 2025 to the petitioners in terms of the Government Order dated 21.08.2003. Hence, sought for allowing the writ petition. 4. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, the second respondent is directed to consider the representations submitted by the petitioners vide Annexure-E series, in accordance with law, keeping in view the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.50972/2019 and connected matters, disposed of on 07.12.2021, as expeditiously as possible, not later than six months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
