The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India seeking issuance of directions to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 6 i.e. private respondents. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that both the petitioners are major and are residing together, in live-in relationship but the said relationship is not acceptable to respondent Nos.4 to 6 and they are threatening to petitioners with dire consequences. The petitioners apprehend danger to their life and liberty from respondent Nos.4 to 6 and in this regard, submitted a representation dated 07.07.2025 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but no action has been taken so far. 3. Notice of motion to official respondents only. 4. Mr. Rishabh Singla, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice for the official respondents. Counsel for the petitioners is directed to supply a copy of complete paper book to the counsel appearing for the State during the course of the day. Without commenting on the validity of their relationship and entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of this petition with direction to respondent No.2 to decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P-3) within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and grant them protection, if there is any threat to their life and liberty in accordance with law. 6. It is made clear that this order shall not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any committed by them.
