ORDER 25.11.2025 Petition prayer reads as under: “It is therefore prayed that in the facts and circumstances stated above and in the interest of justice the Hon'ble Court may be pleased to admit this writ petition, issue notice to the Opp.parties and after hearing the parties be pleased to issue appropriate writs/ directions declarations: (i) Direct the Opp.parties to correct the father's name of the petitioner namely Jakir Hussain instead of Md. Zakir Hassan in High School Examination Certificate and provisional mark sheet of the petitioner issued by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha vide Annexure-1 series.” 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that some wrong name of the father having been mentioned, the same needs to be rectified in the High School Examination Certificate issued by the H.S.C. Board and in the provisional mark sheet of the petitioner. 3. At the outset, learned AGA submits that unless a representation is given, a Writ of Mandamus does not lie. This is ordinarily true. Counsel for the petitioner agrees that his client would be advised to give a representation for accomplishing the task and that if one is given, the same needs to be decided at the earliest so that academic and non-academic difficulties would not crop up in the life of petitioner. This is appreciable. In the above circumstances, Writ Petition is disposed off reserving liberty as mentioned above. If a representation is given by the petitioner supported by evidentiary material, the same shall be decided by OP No.2 within an outer limit of eight (8) weeks. Delay shall be viewed very seriously.
