Laskar, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the son of the petitioner No. 1, who is 12 years old and a student of Class-VI in Chandranathpur M.E. School under Katigorah Education Block, was subjected to corporal punishment by the respondent No. 6, who is the headmaster of the said school. 2. The petitioner’s counsel submits that though a hearing in connection with the allegation of corporal punishment by the respondent No. 6 was scheduled on 04.01.2025 in the office of the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam, no decision has been taken by the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam, on the basis of the hearing held on 04.01.2025. The petitioner’s counsel submits that a direction may be issued to the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam, to communicate the decision taken in respect to the allegation of corporal punishment made against the respondent No. 6 and for which a hearing had taken place on 04.01.2025, in terms of the letter dated 21.12.2024 issued by the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam. 4. Mr. S. M. T. Chistie, learned counsel for the Elementary Education Department submits that he has go no objection to the prayer made by the petitioner’s counsel. 5. In view of the consent of the parties, the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam is directed to take a decision on the allegation made against the respondent No. 6, for which a hearing had been scheduled on 04.01.2025 in the office of the Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam. The Joint Director, Elementary Education, Assam should thereafter communicate the decision taken with regard to the allegation made against the respondent No. 6 to the parties, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
