Counsel for the petitioner is permitted to implead Commissioner, Azamgarh Division, Azamgarh as Respondent No. 5 in the array of the parties during the course of the day. 2. The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner inter- alias with the prayer to quash the order dated 04.07.2025 passed by the District Magistrate, Mau / Respondent No. 2 by which the Arm license of the petitioner was cancelled. 3. It is stated in the supplementary affidavit filed in support of the writ petition that aggrieved against the aforesaid, statutory appeal as provided under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959 was filed by the petitioner before the Commissioner, Azamgarh Region, Azamgarh on 14.07.2025. 4. Today when the matter is taken up, it is informed by the counsel for the petitioner that aforesaid appeal was numbered as Appeal No. C-202515000001994 in which the next date fixed for hearing is 06.08.2025. 5. In this view of the matter, counsel for the petitioner confined his prayer and prayed that the appellate authority before whom the aforesaid appeal filed by the petitioner is pending will decide the same, expeditiously. 6. This prayer has not been opposed by the learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of State-respondents. 7. In this view of the matter and also in the interest of justice, the present writ petition is disposed of finally directing the Respondent No. 5, Commissioner, Azamgarh Region, Azamgarh to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law, expeditiously and preferably within a period of four months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order, unless there is no legal impediment.
