Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), seeking issuance of directions to respondents No. 1 to 3 to ensure that the petitioner and his family members are not unnecessarily harassed by respondent No. 4 at the behest of respondents No. 5 to 9. The petitioner further prays that the matter be directed to be inquired into by an independent senior police officer. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner's daughter, namely Amarjot Kaur, was earlier engaged to respondent No. 5, who is currently residing in the USA. However, the marriage of the petitioner's daughter has since been solemnized with someone else, it is alleged that despite this, private respondents No. 5 to 9 are unnecessarily harassing the petitioner and his family members. It is further submitted that, based on a complaint submitted by the private RASHMI 2025.07.10 10:47 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-35503-2025 2 respondents on unfounded grounds, the official respondents have been repeatedly summoning the petitioner to the police station. 3. This Court does not find any ground to issue directions by exercising powers under Section 528 of the BNSS. However, it is clarified that if, upon examining the contents of any complaint submitted by the private respondents, no cognizable offence is made out or suspected, the official respondents are expected not to cause any undue interference in the personal life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members. 4.
