Petitioners are seeking to quash the entire proceedings in C.C.No.10417/2017, pending on the file of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bengaluru Rural District.
2. Even though this petition was filed on 18.07.2024, the office objections are not complied with.
Learned counsel for the petitioners is also not present.

3. Charge-sheet is filed for the offences punishable under Sections 504, 506, 498-A of IPC and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act.
4. Respondent No.2 set the law in motion and based on her complaint, case was registered against the petitioners, namely, her husband and in laws.
5. It is the case of prosecution that the marriage of second respondent with accused No.1 took place on
18.03.2016. At the time of marriage, 70 gms. of gold was given to the complainant and 30 gms. of gold and cash of Rs.5 lakhs was given to accused No.1. After about five months from the date of the marriage, the accused started subjecting the complainant to cruelty for the purpose of dowry, demanding a site , etc. Based on the statements of the complainant and other witnesses, charge-sheet was filed.

6. It is submitted by the learned HCGP that in this case the charges are framed and 12 witnesses are already examined. Hence, the proceedings before the trial court cannot be quashed.
7. It is always open for the parties to file a petition before this Court for quashing the proceedings, on the ground of settlement, if any.
8. With the above observation, the petition is
disposed of. Pending I.As are disposed of.
