P. -------- 02/ Dated 10.03.2025 Heard the parties. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with Balumath P.S. Case No. 14 of 2024, N.D.P.S. Case No.02 of 2024, for the offence registered under Sections 17(c), 18(b) & 21 (c) of N.D.P.S. Act, pending in the court of learned Special Judge, NDPS Act, Latehar. On 24.01.2024 at about 02:00 a.m, Balumath Police on the basis of confidential information intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing registration No. JH01BL-4903 from the place near Macluskiganj Main Road Ramghat near Shiv Mandir, Balumath. On search, about 03 kgs of opium were recovered from the said vehicle. Petitioner is alleged to be travelling on the said vehicle. Learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the owner of the vehicle has been granted bail by the Coordinate Bench of this Court. It was further submitted that charge has been framed in this case on 26.09.2024 and the prosecution has not examined any witnesses. Considering the fact that commercial quantity of opium was recovered, I am not inclined to release the petitioner, on bail. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is hereby rejected. Learned Trial Court is directed to expedite the trial. (Ambuj Nath, J.) BS/-
