Impugned in this petition is Detention Order No. 07/DMB/PSA/2023 dated 15.02.2023 passed by District Magistrate Baramulla, whereby the detenu has been detained under the preventive detention with a view to prevent him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of security of the state. 2. It is fairly submitted by learned counsel for the respondents that the detention order was executed on 17.02.2023 and the maximum period of the same is two years, which has already expired, therefore, impugned order has outlived its life. 3. In view of submission made by learned counsel for the respondents, this petition by afflux of time is rendered infructuous and, is accordingly, disposed of with a direction to the respondents to release the detenu forthwith, if still in custody provided he is not involved in any other offence.
