As per the allegations, at about 5:30 PM on 07.03.2025, while a police party was conducting routine patrolling near Balmik Chowk, Barnala, a secret informer approached the police and disclosed that Mindo, Rekha, Whiskey Singh, and Mohit Sharma @ Makhan were RASHMI 2026.07.07 11:01 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRM-M-60488-2025 2 engaged in the illegal sale of narcotic tablets. The informer further stated that all four accused were proceeding towards Pattari Drain, Patti Road, Barnala, and that, if an immediate raid was conducted, they could be apprehended along with a large quantity of intoxicant tablets. Acting upon the said information, which was considered reliable, Investigating Officer sent a ruqa to the concerned Police Station, on the basis of which the present FIR was registered. Thereafter, police party conducted a raid and apprehended all four accused. Upon their personal search, 100 strips containing 1,000 tablets, bearing the label "CALMPIK-0.5 (Alprazolam)", were allegedly recovered from their possession. Subsequent to the registration of the FIR and the arrest of the aforesaid accused, names of Vishal Singh and present petitioner-Gurpreet Singh @ Budhu, were disclosed by the arrested accused on 09.03.2025 as the alleged suppliers of the recovered tablets. During the course of further investigation, Pardeep Singh @ Mani and Mangal Singh were also nominated as accused on 13.03.2025. As per the report of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), each recovered tablet was found to weigh 125 mg. Accordingly, the total weight of 1,000 tablets comes to 125,000 mg, i.e., 125 grams (125 mg × 1,000 = 125,000 mg = 125 grams). 3.
