The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.24846 of 2025 Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner the amount of Rs.41,223/- payable as wages towards 60 days of earned leave surrendered by him, while he was in service, as admitted by the respondent in their RTI, together with 15% interest from the date of his retirement, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court. 3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record. 4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has joined in the service of the Respondent-Transport Corporation on 01.07.1979 and on attaining the age of superannuation, he retied from service on 28.02.2013 as Senior Assistant. It is the submission of the petitioner that he has surrendered 60 days of earned leave salary of Rs.41,223/-, but the same has not been paid by the respondent. Hence, he has given a representation before the respondent on 26.03.2025 claiming Surrender Earned Leave. It is the further submission of the petitioner that the said amount was admitted by the respondent. At this juncture, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that they would consider the petitioner's representation according to it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a reasonable time. 6. In such view of the submission, without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.03.2025 and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 7. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
