1. The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to count the service rendered as Special Police Officer for qualifying service for the purpose of pensionary/retiral benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, inter alia, contends that case of the petitioners is squarely covered by judgments of this Court in Harbans Lal Vs. State of Punjab in CWP No.2371 of 2010 and Sukhjit Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and others in CWP No.9936 of 2017.
3. Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab who on advance notice is present in Court submits that in terms of above stated judgments of this Court, the respondent authorities in the case of various officials have Asgar Ali 2025.07.07 17:47 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-18367-2025 2 considered their claim and passed orders. He further asserts that appropriate authority would consider case of the petitioners in terms of judgments of this Court in Harbans Lal and Sukhjit Singh (supra) and pass an appropriate order within 3 months from today.
