JUSTICE MOHAMMAD NAWAZ ORAL ORDER Petitioners are seeking to quash the FIR and charge sheet filed in connection with Crime No.115/2020 of Yeshwanthapura Police Station, Bengaluru City, pending in C.C.No.10269/2021 before the Court of XXIV ACJM, Bengaluru. 2. Charge sheet is filed against the petitioners / accused Nos.1 to 4 for the offence punishable - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:45142 CRL.P No. 12399 of 2025 under Section 498-A, 506 read with Section 34 of IPC and Section 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. 3. A joint affidavit is filed today signed by the petitioners as well as respondent No.2, reporting settlement. It is stated that the dispute has been settled by the well wishers, elders, friends and family members to put an end to the litigation. 4. The case arises out of matrimonial dispute, wherein, respondent No.2 has set the law into motion against the petitioners. 5. Petitioners and respondent No.2 are present before the Court and acknowledged the settlement taken place between them. Respondent No.2 submits that in view of the settlement, she has no objection to quash the proceedings pending against the petitioners. 6. The joint affidavit is placed on record. 7. In view of the settlement between the parties and considering that this is a case arising out of matrimonial - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:45142 CRL.P No. 12399 of 2025 dispute, it is expedient to quash the proceedings in the interest of justice.
