ORAL ORDER The petitioners are before this court seeking the following prayers:
"(a) Issue a Writ of Mandamus or orders of like nature, directing the honourable I Additional Senior Civil Judge, Bengaluru Rural District, Bengaluru before which OS no.1824/1015 is pending, the entire order sheet of which is produced as Annexure 'D', to take up the said suit on priority basis for urgent disposal by fixing a particular time frame in the interest of justice and equity. (b) Costs, grant any other writ, directions or orders of like nature as this honourable court may deem fit to grant in the circumstances involved in the case to meet the ends of justice. "

2. The petitioners are the defendants. The respondent is the plaintiff. No notice is issued, as the prayer sought by the defendants is innocuous as quoted hereinabove.
The suit is said to be pending before the concerned court for the last 10 years and the matter is at the stage of defence evidence. 3. In the light of the said circumstance and the suit being of 10 years, I deem it appropriate to direct the concerned court to endeavour to dispose the suit, as expeditiously as possible, as the perusal at the order sheet would clearly indicate that adjournments are being granted, without rhyme or reason. 4. In that light, the concerned court shall dispose the proceedings, within an outer limit of one year, from the date of receipt of the copy of the order, if not earlier. Ordered accordingly.
