Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the detention order bearing No. DIVCOM-“K”/26/2024 dated 28.03.2024 issued by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir challenged in the writ petition has outlived its life rendering the instant petition infructuous. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that despite the impugned detention order having outlived its life, the detenue continues to be in detention. 3. Perusal of the impugned detention order reveals that the same has been issued for Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1988 on 28.03.2024 and was valid for a period of one year which has expired on 28.03.2025. 4. In view of above, the instant petition is dismissed as infructuous. The detenue shall be released from preventive detention forthwith, if not required in any other case.
