2025:JHHC:10223 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 2611 of 2025 Sk. Samad @ Shekh Samad, aged about 58 years, son of Shekh Zamidar, resident of Fulpal, P.O. & P.S.- Ghatshila, Dist.- East Singhbhum. … Petitioner - Versus - The State of Jharkhand … Opp. Party ------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH ----- For the Petitioner : Ms. Seema Kumari Singh, Advocate For the State : Mr. P. K. Chatterjee, Spl.P.P. --- 02/03.04.2025 Heard the parties. The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No.478 of 2022 arising out of Ghatshila P.S. Case No. 55 of 2022, corresponding to G.R. Case No.187 of 2022 for the offences registered under section 12 of the Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, 2005 but charge has been framed under section 12(i) of the Jharkhand Bovine Animal Prohibition of Slaughter Act, 2005, pending in the court of learned District & Additional Sessions Judge-I, Ghatshila. Bail application of the petitioner was earlier twice rejected by the Co-ordinate Benches of this Court. It appears that petitioner was apprehended while he was transporting bovine flesh. On his pointing out, parts of bovine animals were recovered from his house. Learned Spl.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that ten prosecution witnesses have already been examined in this case. Considering the nature of allegation and the fact that the trial is under progress, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, his prayer for bail stands rejected. The learned trial court shall take all possible steps to dispose of trial within three months. (Ambuj Nath, J.) Jay/-
