This petition is directed against a notice issued by Nagar Nigam, Meerut dated 11.6.2025 which records that petitioner has encroached upon the land recorded as drain/chak marg. Various submissions are made in order to contend that the allegations are incorrect and that a legal notice has also been sent to the authorities concerned. Although learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the legal notice in essence is the reply to the impugned notice but we are not impressed by such submission. However, as various factual issues are raised it would be appropriate to permit the petitioner to submit a comprehensive reply to the notice annexing all materials in support of his claim. In the event, such a reply is submitted within three days from today the authorities concerned shall examine such reply and pass appropriate reasoned order before proceeding any further. In view of the fair stand taken by the respondents that till an appropriate order is passed in the matter no demolition shall be carried out, we do not consider it necessary to pass any further orders in the matter.
