FIR in Crime No.176/2025 registered at Vishveshwarapuram Police Station, Bengaluru City, for the offence Punishable under Section 125(b) of the BNS, 2023 is under challenge in this petition. 3. Respondent No.2 is the defacto complainant. He has alleged that he is working as technician in one Shree Enterprises situated at 3rd Main Road, Chamarajapete. On 20.11.2023 at about 12:30 p.m., when he was inspecting the machine, his right hand fingers got stuck in the machine, due to which he sustained severe injuries to his fingers. It is alleged that without providing proper equipments and taking protective measures, he was made to work in the said Shree Enterprises. 4. Petitioner Nos.1 and 2 are said to be the owners of Shree Enterprises. Petitioner No.3 is the Manager of Shree Enterprises. According to complainant, no safety measures were taken by the petitioners and due to their negligent act, the incident occurred. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:53631 CRL.P No. 16587 of 2025 5. Section 125(b) of the BNS, 2023, provides punishment which may extend to 3 years of imprisonment or with fine which may extend to ten thousand rupees or both. The said offence is compoundable with the permission of the Court. 6. A joint memo is filed signed by the petitioners and respondent No.2, reporting settlement and on that ground, petitioners are seeking to quash the proceedings. 7. Petitioners and respondent No.2 are present before the Court. It is submitted that they have amicably resolved their dispute and arrived at a settlement. Respondent No.2 submits that in view of the settlement, he has no objection to quash the proceedings and they may be permitted to compound the offence. 8. In the above facts and circumstances, this Court is of the considered view that the parties can be permitted to compound the offence, to meet the ends of justice. Accordingly, the following:- - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:53631 CRL.P No. 16587 of 2025 ORDER i) Petition is allowed. ii) The entire proceedings arising out of Crime No.176/2025 of Visheveshwapuram Police Station, Bengaluru City, registered for the offence Punishable under Section 125(b) of the BNS, 2023 and the consequential proceedings pending before the XXXVII ACMM, Court, Bengaluru are quashed.
