Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:123200-DB Court No. - 39 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 23093 of 2025 Petitioner :- Anjali Kumari Respondent :- State of U.P. and Another Counsel for Petitioner :- Narendra Singh,Sweta Gaur Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Arindam Sinha,J. Hon'ble Dr. Yogendra Kumar Srivastava,J. Ms. Sweta Gaur, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioner and submits, her client made application for caste certificate for her daughter. There being error in the family register, caste certificate has not been issued. On approaching for correction of the family register, her client was told that there cannot be made correction in name of a dead person (father of her father-in-law). On query, Ms. Gaur refers us to relevant pages of the family register and submits, there was change of name erroneously made. The erroneous name stands recorded as 'Gajardhan'. Correct name is 'Gajadhar'. Dr D.K. Tiwari, learned advocate, Additional Chief Standing Counsel, appears on behalf of State. Prayer in the petition is for direction upon concerned authority to issue caste certificate. It appears, petitioner is at a dead end on not being able to obtain correction in the family register, which would enable issuance of caste certificate. Accordingly, Dr Tiwari is requested to use his good office such that petitioner gets her relief. The petition discloses application made to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for correction of the family register. There should be solution to petitioner's problem by three weeks from date. Petitioner will communicate certified copy of this order to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, who, as a government functionary where State is a party, is required to act thereupon. The writ petition is disposed of. Order Date :- 25.7.2025 RKK/- (Arindam Sinha, J) (Dr Y K Srivastava, J) Digitally signed by :- RAJ KUMAR KANNAUJIA High Court of Judicature at Allahabad
