ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking directions to the sixth respondent to render police protection for the conduct of periodic festivals in the temples. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.(Crl)No.199 of 2025 2 According to learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the sixth respondent is restricting the temple festival procession only to the particular streets alone, which is a clear violation of the order passed by the Division Bench of this Court in W.A.No.743 and 2064 of 2019 dated 30.04.2021. Hence the present petition. 3 Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents would submit that earlier the petitioner sought permission and protection for the conduct of the temple festival and protection was also rendered. Now the petitioner is seeking omni bus prayer i.e. protection for the conduct of various festivals for the whole year without any specific date or time, which cannot be granted. 4 Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents and perused the materials available on record. 5 It is seen that the petitioner is seeking police protection 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
W.P.(Crl)No.199 of 2025 for the various festivals throughout the year without any specific date or time, which is omni bus prayer and the same could not be entertained. 6 Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, the respondents are directed to adhere the directions issued by the Division Bench of this Court vide its order dated 30.04.2021 in W.A.Nos.743 and 2064 of 2019. 08.07.2025 cgi Speaking /Non-speaking order 4/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
