This Court, vide order dated 09.08.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5654 of 2024, while allowing the bail to the applicant, namely, Sankat Mochan Rai, had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 certified copy of this order, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Special Judge (P.C. Act), Ambikapur District-Surguja (C.G) vide his request letter dated 21.01.2025 has requested for grant of six months time for concluding the trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD, that due to the lengthy examination and cross-examination of witnesses in cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act, recording evidence is a time-consuming process. After completing the evidence of the remaining witnesses, considering the anticipated time required for the accused's statement, defence evidence and final arguments, despite being made efforts, the trial could not be completed within a stipulated time. Therefore, she prays for grant of further six months time for concluding the same. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of six months from today. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 7.
