Petitioner claims to be a firm registered with Nagar Nigam, Ghaziabad. It is alleged that pursuant to a works contract awarded in favour of the petitioner various work has been undertaken by the petitioner but despite expiry of sufficient period admitted dues of the petitioner in terms of the contract are not released. Since representations in that regard have also not been bestowed consideration, the petitioner is before this Court. Learned counsel for the respondents states that an appropriate decision would be taken by the competent authority in respect of the grievance put forth by the petitioner. Without commenting upon the merits of the matter, we deem it appropriate to dispose of this petition with a direction upon respondent no.2 to accord consideration to petitioner's claim for release of admitted dues in terms of the works contract allegedly awarded to petitioner by passing an appropriate order, within a period of six weeks. If any amount is found due and payable in terms of the determination so made the authorities shall ensure its release without any further loss of time.
