A.G, Punjab. *** SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J.(Oral) This Criminal Writ Petition under Article 226 for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus for issuance of direction to official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and to restrain the private respondents not to harass the petitioners. Learned State Counsel has submitted that a speaking order has already been passed in the complaint dated 24.06.2025 (Annexure P-4) by the authorities concerned and has produced the copy of the same, which is taken on record. He has furnished a copy of the order to counsel for the petitioners. The relevant part of the speaking order is reproduced below :- Anuradha 2025.07.03 05:22 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRWP-6946-2025 (O&M) 2 ‘Investigation regarding the above petition was conducted through Head Constable Harjit Singh 737/ Moga, which revealed that the petitioner Manveer Kaur, daughter of Ranjodh Singh, resident of Ghoga Patti, Rajiana, has voluntarily got married to Lovepreet Ram, son of Tarsem Lal, resident of Rajiana, to which her family was objecting, for which as a security, she has filed above writ petition. In this regard H.C. Harjit Singh reached village Rajiana, accompanied by Member Panchayat, village Rajiana, Paramjit Singh, who went to the house of Lovepreet Ram, husband of petitioner Manveer Kaur, where the house of Lovepreet Ram, husband of petitioner Manveer Kaur was locked, on which H.C. Harjit Singh contacted the petitioner's husband Lovepreet Ram on his phone number 97793-36486 who said I and Manveer Kaur we have gone out somewhere, we will come back tomorrow 02-07-2025 so that we can get our statements recorded. On which HC Harjit Singh recorded the statement of the above Member Panchayat Village Rajiana Paramjit Singh. After which HC Harjit Singh recorded the statement of the petitioner Manvir Kaur's father Ranjodh Singh son of Gurcharan Singh resident of Rajiana, who said in his statement that his daughter Manvir Kaur has arranged a love marriage with Lovepreet Ram son of Tarsem Lal of her own free will, in which he and his family have no objection and neither will they pose any threat to the petitioners.’ In light of the above, counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press this petition further.
