1. In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for a direction to the respondents to release the retiral benefits along with interest on account of death of her mother- Uma devi, which have been withheld by the respondents.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the mother of the petitioner passed away on 14.01.2023 while in service. Till date, no retiral benefits have been released to the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that at this stage, he will be satisfied if a direction be given to respondent No.3 to decide the legal notice dated 14.02.2025 (Annexure P-2), submitted by the petitioner in a time bound manner.

5. Mr. Vikas Arora, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2 and on the asking of the Court, Mr. Kunwar Rajan, Advocate accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.3. He does not oppose the prayer, as made by learned counsel for the petitioner.

In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider and decide the legal notice dated 14.02.2025 (Annexure P- 2), submitted by the petitioner within a period of 02 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. In case, the petitioner is held entitled for grant of relief as per the law as claimed in the legal notice dated 14.02.2025 (Annexure P-2), the same be also released within a period of 02 months thereafter.
7. Pending applications, if any, shall also stand disposed of accordingly.
