ORAL ORDER
The petitioner has filed this petition seeking the following reliefs: 1) "Writ of certiorari by setting aside the order of the respondent No.2 dated 20.11.2020 in ET11/28/2019-20 in so far as not extending the Revised Salary to the petitioners vide Annexure-D and an Endorsement dated 19.07.2023 in file No:ET-11/40/2017-18 issued by the respondent No.2 vide Annexure-H in the interest of justice and equity . 2) Issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to extend the benefit of Revised rate of Honorarium to the petitioners from the date of the respondents
order dated
20.11.2022.
3) Issue any other writ or order or direction which this Hon'ble Court deems fit under the facts and circumstances of the case."

Brief facts, leading rise to the filing of this writ petition are as follows: The respondent-University passed an
order on 20.11.2020 and extended the revised salary to the Guest

Lecturers, who have not approached this court seeking regularisation. The petitioners submitted a representation on 20.05.2022 to respondent No.2-University to extend the same benefit of revised salary to the petitioners who approached this court. The respondent did not consider the representation, and failed to extend the benefit of the revised salary to the petitioners. Hence, this writ petition.

Learned counsel for the respondent-University filed a memo stating that the university has passed an
order dated 13.05.2024 by which the remuneration of the petitioners has been enhanced from Rs.22,500/- per month to Rs.28,000/- per month (for 12 hours of work per week) regarding petitioner No.1 and from Rs.15,000/- per month to Rs.18,500/- per month (8 hours of the work per week) regarding petitioner No. 2, which is on par with other temporary guest lecturers working in respondent No.2-University. In view of the enhancement of remuneration to the petitioner, the prayer sought by them

does not survive for consideration, and accordingly, prays to dismiss the petition as having become infructuous.
4. The grievance of the petitioners was considered by the respondent-University vide order dated 13.05.2024 vide document No.1 enclosed along with the memo. The grievance of the petitioners is that the revised benefit was not extended with retrospective effect, and hence, she submits that the liberty be reserved to the petitioners to challenge document No.1 in the appropriate proceedings. As the grievance of the petitioners has already been addressed by the respondents, in view of the same, nothing survives for consideration in this petition.
5. Accordingly, I proceed to pass the following:
ORDER i. The writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.

ii. A Liberty is reserved to the petitioners to challenge the order dated 13.05.2024, if so advised.
