The instant writ petition has been filed seeking following main prayer:- "Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Commissioner, Gorakhpur Region, Gorakhpur, respondent no. 2 to forthwith decide the pending appeal which has been preferred on 22.12.2024 pursuant to which a direction issued under the order dated 22.11.2024 passed in Writ-C No. 37420 of 2024 to be decided within shortest period of time which may be stipulated by this Hon'ble Court in exercise of extraordinary jurisdiction under Article 22 6 of the Constitution of India." 2. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of petitioners without entering into merits of the case, made innocuous prayer that his appeal dated 17.12.2024, which is pending for seven months before respondent no.2/Commissioner, Gorakhpur Region, Gorakhpur, may be directed to be decided in time bound manner. 3. Learned Standing counsel appearing on behalf of State- respondents vehemently opposed the petition on merit, but has not opposed the prayer as made by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners. 4. Heard learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the State and perused the contents made in the writ petition. 5. Taking into consideration the submissions made by learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner as no objection made on behalf of learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent nos. 1 to 3, I am of the view that respondent no.2, the Commissioner, Gorakhpur Region, Gorakhpur is directed to decide the said appeal 17.12.2024, which is pending before him, in accordance with law, expeditiously, preferably within a period of eight weeks from today. 6.
