On a perusal of the records, it is seen that though the petitioner is not an accused, the vehicle bearing Registration No.TN-10- AS-3477, owned by him was used by the accused for the illegal transportation of 245 grams of Methamphetamine. Pursuant thereto, the respondent registered an FIR in Crime No.748 of 2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 22(c), 25 and 29(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. It is further seen that the confiscation proceedings have also been initiated against the offended vehicle. Hence, the Trial Court rightly dismissed the petition filed by the petitioner seeking return of the vehicle.
