2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties and perused the material on record.

3. Petitioner has sought to quash the criminal proceedings in CC No.51075/2023 pending before the Court of X Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayohall Unit, Bengaluru City.
4. The law was set in motion by respondent No.2 by lodging a complaint at Jeevan Bheemanagar Police Station, Bengaluru City, which was registered in Crime No.215/2022 for an offence punishable under Section 354(A) of IPC.

Learned counsel appearing for the parties would submit that the matter has been settled and respondent No.2/victim in the case, has no objection to quash the proceedings.
6. Petitioner as well as respondent No.2/victim have filed their affidavits, wherein it is stated that they have arrived at a settlement.
7. Para 3 of the affidavit filed by respondent No.2 is extracted here under:

“3. I state that I have voluntarily approached the Petitioner and have stated my willingness to compromise the case. I state that pursuant to the same a settlement came to be arrived at, based on the following terms and conditions: i) That I have no objection for quashing of the Chargesheet and further criminal proceedings filed against the Petitioner in C.C.No.51075/2023 pending on the file of the Learned Xth Chief Judicial Magistrate at Mayo Hall Unit, Bangalore City. ii) That the Petitioner has tendered an apology and displayed immense remorse and regret. Further, I have been blessed with a child and the I have been focused on the welfare of my child and balancing my career. As such, I do not want the proceedings to cause further mental agony and hardship. iii) That I have no further grievances regarding this incident and have agreed to settle the matter amicably. I, further have willfully agreed not to initiate any fresh legal proceedings of any kind against the Petitioner pertaining to the incident.”

8. Considering the averments in the complaint and the charge sheet allegations, it can be seen that the dispute is purely private in nature. The victim has now come forward stating that the matter has been settled and she is not interested in proceeding with the matter any further and she has no objection to quash the proceedings.
9. Petitioner as well as respondent No.2 are present before the Court. They are identified by the
learned counsel appearing for them. Respondent No.2 submits that in view of the settlement, the proceedings can be quashed.
10. In the above facts and circumstances, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the proceedings pending against the petitioner. Hence, in the interest of justice, it is expedient to quash the proceedings. Accordingly, the following:
ORDER Petition is allowed.

The entire proceedings in CC No.51075/2023 pending before the X Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayohall Unit, Bengaluru, are quashed. I.A.No.1/2025 is disposed of.
