ORDER The writ petition is filed for a direction to consider petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2025 and to provide adequate police protection for conducting Shri Thandu Mariamman Kovil temple festival from 30.06.2025 to
02.07.2025.
2. Perusal of the hand bill printed itself would show that the festival is proposed to be conducted by particular caste people.
3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) would submit that on account of casteism, there is groupism and on account of groupism, there is a clash and on account of clash, there is a Peace Committee and even in the Peace Committee, there was again clash and therefore, it is not feasible to conduct the festival.
4. Already this Court has held that the caste can never be a factor which can be considered for conduct of the temple events. In any event, since it https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
