(ORAL) Having married against the wishes of their family members, petitioners, who claimed to be major, are facing threat to their life and liberty from private respondent Nos.4 to 8 and so by way of this petition, they seek direction to respondent Nos.1 to 3 to protect their life. Petition is accompanied by Aadhar Cards (Anenxures P-1 and P-2 respectively) of both the petitioners, besides copy of marriage photographs (Annexure P-4) and copy of marriage certificate (Annexure P-3). They have also placed on record the copy of representation dated 23.06.2025 (Annexure P-5), which was moved to respondent No.2. Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1 to 3 only. Mr. Animesh Sharma, Addl. A.G. Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3-State. A copy of paper book be supplied to him during the course of day. Without commenting on the validity of the marriage of the petitioners, respondent Nos.2 and 3 are hereby directed to provide necessary protection to the petitioners after assessing threat perception to their life.
