The grievance of the petitioner is that his application for issuance of a new passport upon expiry of the validity period of the previous passport is pending consideration before the Passport Officer without any final decision having been taken. 2. Sri Rajesh Tripathi, learned counsel appearing for the respondents states that final decision would be taken expeditiously. 3. Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on merits, the writ petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent no. 2 to take decision on the application of the petitioner for grant of fresh passport to her within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of the instant order alongwith relevant documents. .
