Rattu, DAG, Punjab. *** SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J.(Oral) This Criminal Writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus thereby directing the Respondent No. 2 to protect the life and personal liberty of the petitioners by providing adequate security/ police protection to the petitioners as the petitioners have started living together in a live-in relationship against the wishes of respondent No. 4 & 5, who are objecting to their lives in relationship as both petitioners belong to different religions and also directing the respondent No. 4 & 5 not to interfere in the personal lives and liberty of the petitioners and further directing the Respondent No. 2 not to allow/let the Respondent No. 4 & 5 or anybody else to interfere with the liberty and the lives of the petitioners or to harass them Anuradha 2025.06.20 07:28 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRWP-6539-2025 (O&M) 2 in any manner against the wishes of the petitioners or to cause any detriment to the petitioners in any manner. Learned State Counsel has submitted that a speaking order has already been passed in the representation dated 16.06.2025 (Annexure P-3) by the authorities concerned and has produced the copy of the same, which is taken on record. He has furnished a copy of the order to counsel for the petitioners. The same is reproduced below :- ‘Whereas Gurjot Kaur D/o Hardip singh r/o Gobindpura Now lives with Harjinder Khan s/o Bhola Khan R/O Village Khatriwala Police Station Bareta District Mansa had moved a writ petition bearing number CRWP-6539- 2025 before the SSP Mansa. The Petitioners have mentioned in their Petition that they both are solemade marriage against the wishes of Parents. Now they are apprehending danger to their lives at the hands of have demanded protection of their life and liberty.’ During enquiry,all sincere efforts have been made to trace the petitioners, but they are not found residing on the address mentioned in their petition. Till date both the petitioners also did not contact with this office for seeking protection. As and when the petitioners contacted with this office for seeking protection, further action should be taken in accordance with law. The report is submitted.’ In light of the above, counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press this petition further.
