Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:23521 Court No. - 4 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 333 of 2025 Petitioner :- Bharat Lal Respondent :- State Of U.P. And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Krishna Mohan Ojha Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Ajit Kumar,J. By means of this petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, petitioner has challenged the order of punishment dated 5th July, 2024 passed by the Settlement Officer Consolidation, Chitrakoot. Learned Standing Counsel raises a preliminary objection as to the maintainability of this petition on the ground that petitioner has an alternative statutory remedy of appeal under the relevant Rules. Learned counsel for the petitioner could not dispute the aforesaid legal position. In view of the above, I decline to grant indulgence in the matter at this stage. However, liberty rests with the petitioner to apply for statutory remedy of appeal, if so advised. It is further provided that in the event statutory appeal is filed within a period of four weeks from today, the same shall be decided by the competent authority within a further period of two weeks.
