In this matter, the State has already filed an appeal for enhancement of sentence, since under Section 6 of the POCSO Act, a minimum sentence of imprisonment of about 20 years is provided. On the other hand, learned counsel for the appellant/accused submits that the appellant is in jail for the past six and a half years and has been sentenced to undergo imprisonment for about 10 years. He further submits that the appellant/accused has already undergone almost 70% of the sentence and therefore, his appeal needs to be heard expeditiously. 2 956 appeal 818-25 2.
