Ms. Ranjana Pathania, Advocate, vice Ms. Archna Dutt, Advocate, for respondent No.2. Mr. Sanjeev Kuthiala, Sr. Advocate, with Ms. Amita Chandel, Advocate, for respondent No.3. Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) By way of this Writ Petition, the petitioners have prayed for the following reliefs:-
“(i) Issue a Writ of Mandamus or direction in the nature of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to issue the Registration Numbers and Registration certificates to all the 95 students including the petitioners and to permit all the 95 students including the petitioners to sit for the examinations for 1st Semester of B.Ed. Course scheduled to commence from 13.3.2024.”

The grievance with which the petitioners approached the Court was that they were admitted in respondent No.3-Institution, whose affiliation was later on withdrawn for the purpose of running 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 2025:HHC:5828 B.Ed. classes. On account of withdrawal of the said affiliation, as the petitioners were not being allowed to appear in the examinations of 1st Semester of B.Ed. Course, it is in this backdrop that they approached the Court, praying for the relief already mentioned hereinabove. 3. A perusal of the orders passed by this Court demonstrates that no interim was granted to the petitioners, that is to say that no order was passed by the Court directing the respondents to allow the petitioners to appear in the 1st Semester examinations of the B.Ed. course, which were to commence on
13.03.2024. Today, we are in the month of March, 2025, i.e. almost one year as from the date of these examinations. 4. In the light of said developments, as the petition has been rendered infructuous with the passage of time, the same is hereby closed as such, but with the observation that the closure of this petition shall not come in the way of the petitioners in agitating the larger interest of theirs qua pursuing of their education in the Institute concerned.
