Petitioner-Santokh Singh has filed the present petition under Section 528 of the BNSS, seeking directions to official respondents No. 2 to 5 to conduct a fair and proper investigation into the representation dated 05.06.2025 (Annexure P-1). 2. In the said representation, petitioner has projected that a sum of ₹1.70 crore of public funds is proposed to be spent on laying a new sewerage line. However, based on his expertise in the relevant field, petitioner suggested that there is no need to lay a new line. Instead, he claims that, if given a chance, he can enhance the functioning of the existing sewerage line. Thereafter, a dispute arose between petitioner and respondent No. 6, namely Baljit Singh Chani (Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Moga), following which the petitioner submitted said representation to the official respondents. 3. Learned State Counsel has filed a status report in the form of an affidavit submitted by Mr. Ajay Gandhi, IPS, Senior Superintendent of RASHMI 2025.09.12 16:53 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-33997-2024 - 2 - Police, District Moga, on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 5/State, in Court today. Same is taken on record. Registry is directed to place the affidavit at the appropriate place in the paper book. 4. Learned State Counsel further submits that, considering the facts and circumstances of the case, including the Medico Legal Report and the report of ASI Charanjit Singh , offences under Sections 115(2) and 351(2) of the BNS were found to be made out against respondent No. 6. Accordingly, DDR Nos. 33 and 34, both dated 07.06.2025, were registered at Police Station City-I, Moga. 5. Faced with the situation, learned counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press the prayer made in the present petition any further, but seeks liberty to avail any remedy that may be available to him in accordance with law, at an appropriate stage, before an appropriate forum. 6.
