Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:101666 Court No. - 77 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 20429 of 2025 Petitioner :- Smt Tanu And Another Respondent :- State Of U.P. And 3 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Gaurav Singh,Pawan Kumar Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Saurabh Srivastava,J. 1. Heard learned counsel for petitioners and learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents. 2. By way of the present writ petition, a direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents not to interfere in peaceful marital life of petitioners, has been sought. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are major and have solemnized their marriage with each other of their own freewill according to Hindu Rites and Custom on 27.08.2024 and they have also applied online on dated 22.04.2025 seeking registration of their marriage, and for that they are being threatened and harassed by respondent no.4. Learned counsel for petitioners further submitted that in pursuance of the hindrances being created by respondent no.4, petitioners moved a representation before Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate Agra but no heed has been paid, hence this petition. 4. Per contra, learned Standing Counsel vehemently opposed the prayer sought through the instant petition on the ground that online application preferred at the behest of petitioners for seeking registration of their marriage, has already been expired meaning thereby, their marriage has not been registered till date. 5. After having the rival contentions raised by learned counsel for both the parties and perusal of the material available on record, it appears that respondent no.4 is creating disturbance in peaceful life of petitioners. 6. In view of the above, the writ petition is finally disposed of with a direction to the Commissioner of Police, Commissionerate Agra to provide protection to petitioners in shape of providing contact number of concerned Sub-Inspector/Head Constable to the petitioners so that in case of any apprehension of mishappening or any emergency which requires protection from the private respondent in pursuance of solemnization of their marriage, they may directly contact to the same authority who will respond within a shortest period of time over the destination. 7. The protection as granted above shall be in operation for two months from today. 8. Meanwhile, petitioners are directed to get their marriage registered by way of following the procedure.
