Present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos.2 & 3 to protect life and liberty of petitioner at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 7 and other relatives. Further prayer is for directing respondent No.3 to present Status Report of representation dated 28.05.2025 (P-6). Although, there is no formal notice of motion in this case; but leaned State Counsel, on instructions from ASI Shingara Singh, has apprised the Court that on a complaint, made by the petitioner, an FIR No.188 dated 03.11.2024 (P-1), under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 351(2), 351(3) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Police Station Salem Tabri, District Police Commissionerate Ludhiana has already been registered in the matter against four accused. Learned State Counsel further apprised that after investigation, challan was presented against three accused, namely, Avninderjit Singh, Atula & Rohit Kumar @ Chintu on 27.01.2025 and they were arrested. Also apprised that even charges were framed on 19.02.2025. (3)
In view of the above factual position, no directions are required to be issued to respondent Nos.2 & 3 in the present petition. Consequently, the same is hereby disposed off. (4)
Needless to say that petitioner would be at liberty to raise his plea(s) before learned trial Court at appropriate stage(s), in accordance with law.
Pending application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed off.
