By the present petition, the petitioner is seeking a direction towards the respondents’ authority for disbursal of RAHUL JHA Digitally signed by RAHUL JHA Date: 2025.02.04 16:51:24 +0530 2 amount/compensation of award in respect of the acquired land of the petitioner for HASDEO Project. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is owner of land bearing Khasara no. 234/1, area 30 Decimal situated at Village Bansula Tahsil- Bamhanidih, District Janjgir- Champa, which has been acquired by the respondents’ authority for HASDEO Project. A proposed award dated 10/12/2002 (Annexure-P/1) has been passed by the Land Acquisition Officer, HASDEO Project, which is annexed with the petition as Annexure- P/1 at page no. 13, but instead of the said acquisition of land and passing of the proposed award, the respondents’ authority have not released the amount of compensation pursuance to the proposed award dated 10/12/2002. 3. Learned counsel for the State would submit that respondent No.3 i.e. Land Acquisition Officer, HASDEO Project-cum-Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue), Janjgir-Champa shall verify and examine the claim as alleged by the petitioner, and if, it is found that the land of the petitioner has been acquired, the amount towards compensation as stated by the petitioner shall be disbursed to him within a period of 2 months, in accordance with law. 4. I have heard counsel for the parties and perused the proposed award dated 10/12/2002 (Annexure-P/1). 5. From perusal of the proposed award as well as Award Chart, it appears that the land of the petitioner has been acquired by the 3 respondents’ authority for HASDEO Project and the compensation towards the petitioner’s land has been assessed by the Land Acquisition Officer, annexed as Annexure-P/1. 6. Therefore, it is directed that respondent No3/Land Acquisition Officer shall verify and examine the claim of the petitioner within a period of 60 days from today and necessary steps be taken for disbursal of the compensation in favour of the petitioner, in accordance with law. 7.
