Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC:33494 Court No. - 32 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 19420 of 2024 Petitioner :- Santi@ Ananya Respondent :- State Of U.P. & 5 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Sudhanshu Kumar Mishra Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Saral Srivastava,J. 1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri R.P. Tiwari, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents. 2. The petitioner by means of the present writ petition has prayed for the following relief:- "(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned order dated 16.12.2021 passed by the opposite party no.3, who has rejected the application/notice of the petitioner for she wants to change her name in the High School Certificate. (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to direct the opposite parties to change her name on the testimonial certificate of the petitioner. (iii) Issue a writ, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the circumstances of the case. (iv) Award the cost of the writ petition to the petitioner." 3. Learned Standing Counsel submits that this Court in Special Appeal No.459 of 2023 (State of U.P. and 2 others Vs. Md. Sameer Rao and 3 others) has set aside the order passed by the learned Single Judge dated 25.05.2023 in Writ-C No.3671 of 2022 and allowed the Special Appeal and dismissed the writ petition by judgement dated 13.02.2025. Accordingly, it is submitted that the present case is squarely covered by the judgement of this Court dated 13.02.2025 passed in Special Appeal No.459 of 2023, therefore, the relief prayed for by the petitioner in the present petition cannot be granted. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner does not dispute the aforesaid fact that in identical circumstances, this Court has set aside the order of the learned Single Judge and dismissed the writ petition in Special Appeal No.459 of 2023. 5. Since, the controversy in hand is squarely covered by the judgement of this Court dated 13.02.2025 passed in Special Appeal No.459 of 2023 (State of U.P. and 2 others Vs. Md. Sameer Rao and 3 others), therefore, the present writ petition is also dismissed in terms of the order dated 13.02.2025 passed in Special Appeal No.459 of 2023.
