THIS PETITION, COMING ON FOR PRELIMINARY HEARING IN ‘B’ GROUP, THIS DAY, ORDER WAS MADE THEREIN AS UNDER: CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE SURAJ GOVINDARAJ ORAL ORDER 1. The petitioner is before this Court seeking for the following reliefs: (i) issue a writ of mandamus or any other writ, order or direction, directing the Respondents to consider the case representation dated Petitioner as per 04.06.2025 as per Annexure-C and to give him clearance and remove his name from rowdy sheeter register as expeditiously as possible, to meet the ends of justice ii) grant such other and further reliefs as this Hon'ble Court deems fit under the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice. ` 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that despite all the criminal proceedings against the petitioner having been quashed, the rowdy sheet entry in the name of - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:50804 WP No. 17390 of 2025 the petitioner is still continuing and the representation dated 4.6.2025 submitted by the petitioner has not been considered and necessary orders passed. 3. A rowdy sheet can be opened when there are criminal proceedings which are pending against the said person. If those proceedings have ended in acquittal or they being quashed, it would be required for respondents to delete the name of such person from the rowdy sheet. The same not having been done, I pass the following: ORDER i) The Writ Petition is allowed. ii) A mandamus is issued directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 4.6.2025 at Annexure-C and pass necessary orders deleting the name of the petitioner from the rowdy sheet if there are no criminal proceedings which are pending - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2025:KHC:50804 WP No. 17390 of 2025 against the petitioner as on date within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
