The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to rectify the measurement in patta No.285 wherein the extent of land is shown as 1808 sq.feet instead of 4200 sq.feet. 3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that the petitioner submitted an application dated 12.03.2024 to rectify the measurement in patta as 4200 sq.feet instead of 1808 sq.feet in terms of registered document No.2147/1979 in respect of land comprised in Old S.No.560/1 and New S.No.610/3, situated at Thiruvamathur Village, Vikkiravandi Taluk, Villupuram District. However, the same was not considered by the respondents till date. Aggrieved, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4. At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.S.Balamurugan, learned Government 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P. No.23413 of 2025 Advocate for respondents that application dated 12.03.2024 submitted by the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner. 5. In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of with the following directions; i) The respondents shall consider the application dated 12.03.2024 in accordance with law, after issuing notice and affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, adjacent land owner and all other interested parties including rival claimants, if any. ii) Though facts have been set out extensively in the affidavit, this court does not propose to deal with it while leaving it open to the respondents to call for any document/conduct enquiry, if any, while considering the application dated 12.03.2024. iii) The entire process shall be completed within a period of 16 weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy. iv) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
